This is a test of our new newsletter mechanism.  This is a fun and oh-so-modern way for us to keep up with our friends and customers!

But, while we're sending out this test, we might as well update you on Té happenings!  Thanks to everyone who showed up for the Indonesian Trivia Night, held this past Thursday.  It was a fun evening, full of music, an impromptu percussion group, food, and, of course, trivia!  Several couples and teams competed (the place was full!), with the top 3 teams winning prizes!!

And, most importantly, we raised some good money for the Indonesian Red Cross, which will be donated toward relief efforts in wake of the Mt. Merapi earthquake, especially for Yogyakarta.  To date, we have counted nearly $400 in donations!

What's next at Té House of Tea?  Well, this Thursday, August 3, will be a special night: Anjali and P.K. McCary will delight and inspire us with their unique mix of music and storytelling.  Then, Friday, August 4, will be the opening of a new art exhibit.  We are excited to have the art of local artist Wendy Wight.  Check our Exhibits page for more information on Wendy's approach, and samples of her work.    The following Saturday, August 12, will feature live music from the Bellaire Jazz Combo.  Join us for a tranquil evening of jazz and tea (BYOB is also fine with us!).

What are our new teas at the store, you may ask?  Let's see what's in the house ...

• Dragonwell Eyeball - the popular green tea from China, this one is handsewn in a traditional artform, producing a ball about the size of a small plum!  Watch it "blossom" as it steeps in a teapot (we'll serve it to you in one of our glass pots!)
• Russian Imperial - a black tea blended with strawberry and black currant leaves.  Produces a slightly-sweet flavor, this tea was popular with Russian nobility, and remains a nostalgic drink today, especially when brewed over a samovar.
